Through the Rainbow of Light, she has killed two of the greatest threats Ponyland has known: Tirac and Lavan. Having confronted all kinds of horrors across Dream Valley, Megan might be kind but she is very brave and capable of eliminating the biggest of threats, regardless of how scary they may be. In comparison to her often bratty or confrontational siblings, Megan is always kind and friendly towards the ponies, rarely losing her temper unless the younger ponies have done something wrong, at which point she acts in a rather motherly fashion, which was her role in many episodes.

After defeating Tirac, Firefly took her back home, taking the locket with her. During her quest, she encounters the Sea Ponies and the Moochick, who gave her a heart-shaped locket which contains the Rainbow of Light. She was first brought to Dream Valley by Firefly to help save her friends from the Master of Midnight Castle, Tirac, and his army of darkness. She was voiced by Tammy Amerson in the first two specials and the movie, and Bettina Bush (who also voices Rainbow Brite) in the cartoon. She keeps the Rainbow of Light, a special locket which contains a powerful rainbow to defeat anything that is evil threatening the ponies. Gentle and motherly, but also mature and resourceful in addition to her sweetness and beauty, she acts as the Little Ponies' leader, and in times of crisis the ponies often fly across the rainbow to find her. She and her siblings, Danny and Molly live on a ranch where she keeps a horse named TJ, and a bull named Tauro.
